What’s it Like Operating a Kosher Restaurant in NYC?

Ever since we moved to New York back in the 1980s, we've always strived to deliver the best kosher food for not only the Jewish communities in New York City but also non-Jewish communities as well. Many people think of kosher food as boring or outdated, but it really is the food that anyone can enjoy. At Kasbah BBQ and Grill, we combine some of the best flavours from around the world. We bring together traditional kosher favourites along with Middle Eastern foods into a unique and delicious culinary dining experience.

Many people wonder what it is like that operate a kosher restaurant in NYC, and I'm here to tell you that it is a dream every day that I walk in to open up the restaurant. Here are a few of the best parts of my day, and why we continue to operate Kasbah BBQ and Grill so many years later.

The Best Cuts of Meat

Just like any steakhouse or BBQ restaurant in New York City, operating a kosher restaurant in NYC is the same. I have always been a fan of some of the best quality meat selections in the city, and I know that our customers enjoy the cuts we offer. From the traditional ribeye steak to the more exotic choices like Brazilian Butcher's Cut and lamb steaks, everything is of the best quality. Before the dish can get to your table, it all starts with the best meat, which is why we put just as much effort into working with the best butchers in New York as we do preparing the food.

Working with Staff

To be a certified kosher restaurant in NYC, your staff must know all of the rules and best practices. Along with our own certification at the management level, we want to make sure that every person working with the food knows kosher rules, regardless if they practice them personally or not. By taking the time to train and educate our cooks on kosher practices, we provide our guests with an authentic kosher experience they can feel right about.

Finding New Menu Items

Kosher food might have staple dishes that have stuck around for generations, but that doesn’t mean we can’t try new things. In fact, at Kasbah BBQ and Grill, we strive to offer the latest and greatest dishes you can’t find at any other kosher restaurant in NYC. It all starts by remaining curious of new flavours that would lend themselves well to kosher practices. We made a name for ourselves by combining traditional New York kosher dishes with Middle Eastern flavours. This creates a unique flavour palate unique to our kosher restaurant in NYC. You can always count on us to push the boundaries of what kosher food can be.

Meeting the Guests

Getting a chance to greet and meet the guests that come into our restaurant is our favourite part of operating our kosher restaurant in NYC. Not everyone that comes to Kasbah BBQ and Grill is Jewish, and not everyone is from the area. Regardless of their background, we like to know our guests on a personal level and treat everyone as if they are a regular. When you come to our kosher restaurant in NYC, know that you are in good hands, and we genuinely care that you have the best kosher experience in New York City.
